Dance Assembly 2025

Dance Assembly was a one-day conference created to equip, connect, and inspire the dance community in Singapore — a gathering where movement became a language of worship and unity in Christ.

More than 20 churches came together, representing a beautiful diversity of backgrounds and generations, yet moving as one body to glorify God through dance. One of our deepest desires was to see families worship together, so we opened a special Kids’ Worship Dance class — a joyful space where children learned to express their love for God through movement while their mothers were at the adult dance classes. Seeing parents and children worship later during the worship segment was a powerful picture of generational faith and shared devotion.

Beyond technique and choreography, the day was filled with moments of deep reflection and inspiration. Our guest teacher from Taiwan, Miss Chen Qiu Yin, shared her heartfelt testimony — how God shaped her journey in dance and called her to serve Him through the arts. Her story reminded us that dance is more than an art form; it’s a calling and a ministry.

The conference culminated in a vibrant showcase featuring dance ministries from 3:16 Church, Church of Our Saviour, Paya Lebar Methodist Church, our Engage Worship Class participants, the children’s class, and our very own Thread members. Each performance was an offering of praise — a tapestry of movement, music, and faith woven together to honour and celebrate God.

We were also deeply honoured to have The Encounter worship team close the event by leading us into a powerful and uplifting time of worship. It was a beautiful finale — hearts lifted, hands raised, and every dancer reminded once more of why we move: to glorify the One who first moved in us.

Dance Assembly was more than an event; it was a glimpse of heaven’s unity on earth — where every step, rhythm, and heartbeat echoed one truth: we dance because He is worthy.

Thread is especially thankful to our sponsors, Paya Lebar Methodist Church, Ms Mary Loh, Ms Ina Ng and Church of Our Saviour for their generous support in this event.
